‘Digital Skills at the Region of Thessaly’, co-organised by Unit of Innovation and Best Practices (Ministry of Administrative Reconstruction) and City of Trikala was held at Trikala on November 30th. The event, supported by the Region of Thessaly, was participated in by Google Hellas. ‘Digital Skills at the Region of Thessaly’ is included in the Action Plan of National Coalition on Digital Skills and Jobs, members of which are both City of Trikala and Google Hellas.
The Greek Digital Champion welcomed the participants on behalf of the Minister of Administrative Reconstruction. The Governor of the Region, the Mayor of Trikala, the Director General of Google for Greece, Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus, the Head of Unit of Innovation and representatives from regional Chambers, local schools and local entrepreneurship also attended.
What was novel in this particular event, following a series of similar ones hosted at the Region of Crete, the Region of Ioannina and the City of Thessaloniki is the fact that it was organised in two parts. In the first part, co-operation between Google Hellas and the Region of Thessaly was announced in the field of digital marketing. The project will last from January to May 2019. In the second part, the first workshop on Digital Opportunity Traineeships was held by a Digital Skills Officer of the Unit of Innovation. The attendees were informed on the programme and familiarised with the online tools Unit of Innovation has launched on www.nationalcoalition.gov.gr to support Greek companies.
